The debut mixtape from Yung Image was a long time in the making, but well worth the wait. Sag and I stepped into a different zone to give Image a brand new sound….one that would suit his multi-genre style. The result is this cd…. From “Trouble On The Dance Floor” which finds Image on a fast paced, synth-filled soundscape (hey, I had to say it before the haters did — you know they’re out there) to “Rude Boy Fresh” where he checks his fresh against the competition over some fresh 808s and snares….can’t forget “Change Gonna Come” where he voices his social concerns over the Ghetto Medley riddim (oh, that riddim, mad a road!)

This album was the rawest album from Sag Black…..in terms of lyrics, as well as production. The beats: simple, heavy on the drums and snares, light on the melodies. We split the beatmaking duties; Sag and I each did nine tracks. I did all the mixing and mastering; it was my first big project where I did so. And it’s just one of my favorites. Since then the production has gotten more jazzier, me worldly but the elements of hip hop (and in Image’s case, reggae and light soca) haven’t been forgotten.
